Pet medications

Just as with human medications, some online retailers peddle pet medicines that are untested, fake or expired, according to the FDA. One big red flag: The site lets you get your cat or dog’s medication with no prescription, a big no-no. A vet should always do an exam and write a prescription for any medication your furry friend needs, the FDA says.

If you decide to buy pet meds online anyway, ask your vet or local veterinary hospital to recommend a reliable site. And look for the Vet-VIPPS (Veterinary-Verified Internet Pharmacy) seal. It means the company meets the criteria required for producing and dispensing pet meds.
