As a new parent, you’ll do anything to keep your baby safe. You put her to sleep on her back, not her stomach, and you’ve chosen a safe infant car seat. Now, if you use jarred baby food, you’ll want to scour your cabinets for certain Beech-Nut products — and throw them out if you have them.

Beech-Nut Nutrition has issued a voluntary recall of more than 1,900 pounds of baby food products. The reason? There may be small pieces of glass in the jars.

The recall comes about a month after Kraft issued a massive recall of roughly 6.5 million boxes of mac & cheese due to the possibility that some boxes may contain small pieces of metal.

The Beech-Nut recall affects 4-ounce glass jars of baby food “Stage 2 Beech-Nut CLASSICS sweet potato & chicken” with an expiration date of “DEC 2016,” product numbers “12395750815” through “12395750821,” and the establishment number “P-68A” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

No other flavors are reportedly affected by the recall, according to the company.

Beech-Nut issued the recall after a consumer found a small piece of glass in one of the jars and filed a complaint.

“Outside of this single report, we have no indication that any other jar of our Classics Stage 2 Sweet Potato & Chicken is affected, but as a company of parents and families we are acting with an abundance of caution,” the company wrote on its website.

A list of stores the product was sent to will be posted to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service’s (FSIS) website when it’s made available.

FSIS has classified this as a Class I recall, which is defined as “a health hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.”

If you have one of the recalled jars, throw it out or bring it to the store where you bought it for a refund.
